The Essence of our Identity
Koh Kheng Lye
Our founder, Mr K.L. Koh himself, entered the essential oil trade in the 1960s and established one of Southeast Asia’s first modern distillation plants in 1967. His experience in sourcing, distillation, and blending laid the foundations for the trusted trading business we continue to build today.
Edwin Koh
Joining the company in 1992, Edwin learned the trade under the mentorship of his father, Mr Koh. Today, he leads the company as Managing Director, focused on growing the business while deepening the trusted partnerships built over decades.

1967
Distilling the Beginning
In the 1960s, our founder, Mr Koh Kheng Lye, inherited a passion for essential oils from his father, a spice trader who had entered the oil trade.In 1967, he established one of Southeast Asia’s first modern distillation plants, laying the foundation for a business built on craftsmanship, knowledge, and trust.

Putting Singapore on the Map
Driven by curiosity and hands-on experience, Mr Koh travelled around the world to source oils directly from the plantations.By combining expertise in distillation and blending with a global network of clients, the company helped place Singapore on the international essential oils and fragrance map.

1980s - 2000s
From Strength to Strength

2008
A Defining Challenge
In 2008, a devastating fire destroyed the company’s factory, bringing operations to a sudden halt. Years of work and infrastructure were lost overnight.With determination and the support of long-standing industry relationships, the company rebuilt and continued forward, turning one of the most difficult moments in our history into a testament to the strength of its community.
